Lancaster City Council is warning its tenants about cold callers claiming to be checking for damp and condensation in homes on their behalf – but have no official connection at all.
“We have been informed of cold callers in the area,” cautioned Lancaster City Council Housing in a statement. “People are knocking on doors claiming to be from the Council checking for damp and condensation.
“These people are not working on behalf of the Council.”
“You must report all your repair issues to Customer Services on 01524 582929 and a Housing Assistant will be able to assist.
Please do not let anyone into your property without the correct Council ID.”
