The Fairfield Association‘s Go Wild Week will take place this year with a series of guided evening walks in Fairfield Orchard in Lancaster, on week nights between 17th and 21st May.

On Monday 17th May at 7.30 the theme will be Birds of the Orchard. Alan Stamford will lead us on a walk to find out about the many birds that inhabit the Orchard, revealing how to identify them through their songs.

On Tuesday 18th May at 7.30, Andy Lee will be talking on the Secret Life of Trees. Discover the truth trees don’t want you to know!

On Wednesday 19th May at 7.30 Chris Workman explores Life In The Undergrowth, the fascinating world of the tiny creatures that live amongst the grass, trees and bushes of the Orchard.

On Thursday 20th May at 7.30 Graeme Skelcher will be talking about Plant Life, showing how plants and their communities combine to create different habitats.

Friday 21st May, starting at 9.15, is Bat Night, with Jack Sykes and Jo Gregory giving a gripping tour of the orchard’s bat life. Bat detectors will be provided.

Each guided walk will last about an hour and is suitable for all ages.

There is a suggested donation of £1.00-2.00 per session, with proceeds going to the upkeep of the orchard.
