Be a Junior Zookeeper at Wiliamson Park, lancaster this summer

Budding junior zoologists are being given the opportunity to go behind the scenes and see how Williamson Park’s Mini Zoo and Butterfly House run.

The three week course – aimed at children aged eight to 14 years old – is for children who are interested in learning more about animals and provides an insight into the work involved in running a small zoo.

The junior zoo keepers will get involved in feeding the animals and will learn how to handle them safely. They will learn some fantastic facts about the animals as well as having great fun with the team from Williamson Park.

Lancaster City Council say this unique course is expected to be very popular and with limited places available so please book as early as possible to guarantee your child’s place.

There are four separate courses running monthly from August. The course takes place on Sundays from 11am-noon over a three week period and costs £20.

The first course starts on 8th, 15th, 22nd August. The second course takes place on 12th, 19th and 26th September. Another course runs on 10th, 17th and 24th October and the final course takes place on 14th, 21st and 28th November.
