Saturday 12th January 2013 marks a calendar year of Mark Cutter being Landlord of Lancaster’s Robert Gillow. At that point it was a temporary arrangement, as an extension of his activities at The Lord Ashton, but by April he and his partner Natasha Burns were enjoying the challenge so much that they made it official and took on the lease from Hydes Brewery.
To celebrate a year at the pub, The Robert Gillow has planned a day of music to reaffirm its commitment to live music seven days a week, multiple times per day.
The day will start with a Champagne Breakfast with Boogie Bill Roberts from 10am – Midday (The Robert Gillow is open for breakfast from 8.00am Monday – Saturday, and from 10.00am on Sundays).
Then local jive/swing ensemble JiveHoot take to the stage from Noon – 2.30pm.
Bill Wilding and Phil Armistead host their weekly Jazz Cafe from 3pm – 5.00pm
Then from 5pm ’til 9.00pm there will be a showcase a host of local acts who play regularly at The Robert Gillow, including Jazz group Swerve Trio and young talent Fay Marie.
At 9.00pm, Baksheesh take to the stage for a fanatic end to a fantastic day.
