Lancaster Photographic Society recently resumed its evening meetings again for the season, running a programme of gatherings at St. Thomas’ Centre in Martin Street on Monday evenings until April. Complementing this, there’s currently a small exhibition of members work at Lancaster Library.

Founded in 1889, Lancaster Photographic Society is for anyone with an interest in photography and everyone is welcome. Members are people who make pictures purely for the joy of making pictures.

“Members are making still (and sometimes moving) images with phones, drones, scanners and digital cameras,” the Society says. “There is also expertise with analogue film developing and printing in the Society. Your gear doesn’t matter, just your enthusiasm.

Lancaster Photographic Society meet on Monday evenings, 7.30 until about 10.00pm (and then on to the pub), with formal meetings from September to April, and workshops and trips over the summer months.
