LitFest has revealed Natalie Sorrell Charlesworth’s programme cover for its 2026 Spring season, and some of the events lineup for their 47th Lancaster Literature Festival, taking place 13th-22nd March 2026.

The theme for this year’s festival is “The Rights of Nature” and, whilst you’ll have to wait a little longer for the full release of their packed programme, you can now buy early-bird in-person tickets for a selection of events.
Sponsored by BSG Solicitors and media partner Lancashire Life magazine, the festival includes Imitating the dog‘s new production of War of the Worlds at The Dukes, featuring Bonnie Baddoo, Morgan Bailey, Gareth Cassidy and Amy Dunn; and an evening with the winner of the 2004 Booker Prize for The Line of Beauty and the 2025 David Cohen Prize, Alan Hollinghurst, titled “Delight in Dissent” (in partnership with Lancaster Arts). The festival’s annual International Women’s Day event will explore an A-Z of Beatrix Potter.

Plus, there’s the Lancaster History Lecture, delivered by Dan Hicks in partnership with Lancaster University, and the return of poet, novelist and critic, Blake Morrison… and so much more!
The Children’s Festival lineup includes events with M.C. Twitch, an award-winning, bestselling writer of children’s books, as well as a founding member of #Authors4Oceans, and Annabel Ross, a podcast producer and a presenter for BBC Countryfile Magazine’s The Plodcast.
Cover designer Natalie Sorrell Charlesworth, of Sorrell Arts, is a poet and Digital Marketing and Social Media Executive for Solaris Books, having previously worked as (amongst other things) a Library Assistant, Associate Lecturer, Outreach and Schools Liaison Officer, Freelance Artist and University Tour Guide.
Since 2012 she has been a volunteer for Lancaster Litfest, initially as a member of their volunteer corps prior to joining the board in 2014. She is now their Company Secretary and Marketing Lead.
