Hints, tips and advice on preparing for winter can now be found in one handy place.
As part of the nationwide ‘Get Ready for Winter’ campaign, Lancaster City Council has set up a page on its website at www.lancaster.gov.uk/severe-weather to help people prepare themselves for the predicted cold snap.
It includes links to key information from the public sector including Lancaster City Council, Lancashire County Council, the police and NHS.
Advice on the page includes how to keep warm and well, transport and travel updates, crime prevention and the steps people can take to clear snow and ice from their own land.
Local people are being asked to share the advice with their elderly relatives, friends and neighbours to help see them through the winter period.
