Everyone can help with the 2015 Big
Garden Birdwatch
at Williamson Park on Sunday 25th January 2015.

If you are an early riser, why not get along along
between 8.00 and 9.00 am for bird spotting with the experts.

“This will be a wonderful opportunity to
learn more about the Park’s birds with members of the local bird watching groups”,
said Hilary Smith of Friends of Williamson Park who are organising the
event.  “We will be meeting at the
bird feeding station in Fenham Carr at 8.00 am to get a close look at the birds
using the feeders. This will be followed by an hour long walk around the
Park.”

If you prefer a more leisurely Sunday
morning, get to the Café in the Park after 10.00 am and collect a survey form and
information sheet from the display, and do your own survey.

Last year 18 different species of
birds were seen in an hour including a grey wagtail, goldcrest and
bullfinch.  The Friends want to see if they can beat
that count.
