Lancaster is on a big roll for 2023… a roll of the Monopoly dice.

The city is getting its very own official Monopoly game for this year, due for release in October, and there’s still time to chip in with your ideas for the Lancaster equivalents of Mayfair and Old Kent Road.

So, where would you pick as your top spot in Lancaster?

Winning Moves is still seeking your ideas – so how about owning the very finest of the city, like Ashton Memorial, the Castle, the Priory, or the University, over the dinner table this Christmas?

As the design team put the board together, do tell them what you think should features on the squares and cards.

Some of the suggestions have certainly amused, such as replacing “Go To Jail” with “Go To Yorkshire”…

Beyond Radio reports you can also suggest which local attractions you’d like to see featured, so Morecambe attractions including the Eric Morecambe Statue and the Winter Gardens, and other places in the district such as Carnforth Railway Station have a chance to be picked.

Lancaster University had its very own Monopoly set, released in 2017, which appears to have been a sell-out success, as copies are hard to find.

You have until 11.59pm on this coming Tuesday, 21st February 2023, to submit suggestions for which places should feature on the Lancaster board.

Winning Moves, makers of Monopoly and Top Trumps, has previously produced a huge range of specialist Monopoly boards based on the property-owning game, around both towns, including York, regions, including the Lakes, and themes – including cats, dogs and dragons.
