Police can now name the mother and son found dead at an address on Lowlands Road in Bolton-le-Sands yesterday morning.
They are 41 year old Lisa Clay and her six year old boy Joseph Chadwick.
A Home Office post mortem examination carried out last night on both bodies revealed that they both died as a result of receiving multiple stab wounds.
The investigation continues and a 34 year old man remains in a serious condition at the Royal Preston Hospital. He is under arrest on suspicion of murder.
