Get ready to pamper your pooch and brush up on your dog handling skills and come along to the annual fun dog show at Morecambe’s Festival Market.

This great family event takes place on Saturday 21st September and promises to put your favourite pets on centre stage.

Registration opens at 10am and there are plenty of categories including best dog, best trick, waggiest tail, dog most like its owner and best young dog handler.

There will also be prizes for the best veteran, puppy, pedigree, crossbreed and rescue dog and many more.

There is a small entry free of £1 per dog per category with all funds being donated to local animal charities – Save-a-Pet and Wolfwood.

The dog show starts at 11.00am and there will be other attractions on the day including a raffle and tombola. For a small donation, the RSPCA will be offering micro-chipping and there will be a demonstration by Dogs for Disabled as well as advice on offer from the council’s dog wardens and animal charity information points.

With or without a dog, everyone is welcome to come along to enjoy and join in the fun.

The Festival Market will be open as usual where you can enjoy a meander around more than 100 stalls and enjoy a refreshing break at one of the cafes serving delicious homemade meals and cakes.
