Police are appealing for information after a fire outside an address on Brunswick Road in Morecambe last month.

At around 4.00am on Thursday 26th April, the occupants of the address were asleep when they heard a loud bang. Looking out the window, they saw a fire had been started outside their door.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called and extinguished the fire and fortunately no one was injured.

Detective Sergeant Mark Stephens said, “I would appeal to anyone who has any information or who may have been in the area around that time that saw anything suspicious to come forward and contact us.

“In particular, a man wearing dark clothing was also seen to run from the front of the house, across Brunswick Road towards ‘Marios’ and ‘Rumblin Tums’ takeaways on the junction with Sefton Road and so I would urge anyone who thinks they may have seen this man or anything else at all suspicious in the area to call us.”
