Sports events organiser Epic Events has announced their Morecambe Bay Open Water Swim will take place on Sunday 5th August
2012 and entrants are now being sought.
Starting from Morecambe Yacht Club, the one mile swim (and a 500m event for less experienced
swimmers) looks set to be a great spectacle for those watching from
the promenade.
Registration for the Swim will be at Morecambe Yacht Club. All
competitors must register on the morning of the event and collect their
timing chip, swim cap and event momento.
Folowing
the event, there will be a prize giving ceremony at the sailing club.
There will be prizes for various categories in addition to a host of
spot prizes so please come along and join us. The presentation will take
place as soon as possible and the sailing club will provide showers,
changing facilities and will be serving food and refreshments for
competitors.
To enter, you
must be medically fit and healthy. All
participants should consult their GP before competing. You must be 15 years of age or above on the date of the event to
participate in the mile and 11 years of age for the 500m distance. You mustalso be capable of swimming the 1600m or 500m distance required for the event.
