Morecambe’s More Music and Signposts in partnership with The Children’s Society will be hosting a “Good Childhood Conversation” at More Music’s venue, The Hothouse on Devonshire Road, Morecambe at 6pm -8pm on 6th March.

The Good Childhood Conversations are local, community events that bring people together to discuss the issues and pressures facing children and young people today.

More Music is a community music and education charity based in The Hothouse, Morecambe, delivering workshops, training, performances and festivals across the district, region and beyond since 1993!  More Music seeks to build confidence and spirit in individuals and communities through the arts, especially music.

More Music manages the Lancashire Youth Music Action Zone for Youth Music, facilitating music-making for young people up to the age of 18, particularly those living in areas of social and economic need.

At the Childhood Conversations event, adults will be given the opportunity to explore their views of the children living in their own community. Fresh thinking and actions, both big and small, to improve childhood for all children are encouraged.

Most importantly, children who attending local schools and sessions at More Music  will be consulted in advance and the findings of what they think of their own lives and local area are presented to the adults.

The hope is the event will generate great ideas to improve childhood for all children in the local community. So, please come along, hear what the children have to say and join the conversation!
